Gaurav Pandey
Gaurav Pandey spent fifteen years in China, where he initially moved in 1999 to study the Chinese language on a scholarship. He transitioned into computer science studies and began his professional career with an internship at a United States company establishing a branch in China, leveraging his multilingual skills in English, Chinese, and Hindi. Throughout his early twenties, Pandey led China operations for three different companies, gaining deep experience in high-tech software, operating systems, and pre-Android Linux mobile operating systems. After a brief startup venture in the U.S. and managing a growing service team as China head, he decided to return to Nepal in 2014 to raise his son closer to his grandparents.
Upon returning to Nepal, Pandey co-founded EKbana Solutions alongside his partner Suman, who is based in Japan. Under his leadership, the company scaled from a six-person team to over one hundred and sixty employees, focusing on system integration, mobile applications, computer vision, big data, internet of things, and enterprise large language models. Pandey has been personally involved in major local projects, including data and system development for Big Mart, Foodmandu, the Nepal Electricity Authority, and a national ambulance tracking system for the Ministry of Health. Additionally, he serves as an executive member of NAS IT Nepal, working to address industry hurdles, promote international marketing, and foster collective growth within the country's technology sector.
